Support Gmail Inbox tabs and category labels

A lot of people migrating from Gmail or Inbox never clean emails auto categorized in Gmail category labels from their inbox.
Thus when they open Missive for the first time they have hundreds of irrelevant emails their inbox.

Yes we are thinking on ways to do this.
Technically:
We fetch emails from Gmail using IMAP, but smart categories data are not available on it. They are only available through Gmail REST API.
We will find a way.

Eduardo Rodrigues: We gave this some thought and it is no longer in our current plans. However it is easily possible to use Gmail filters to automatically move emails into labels, which lets you take advantage of Gmail’s smart categorizing from any third party app like Missive, not only from the Gmail interface.

We’ve been suggesting this strategy to customers who reached out to us about this feature and they are very satisfied with it.

Rafael Masson: Thanks for the prompt reply Rafael. Nonetheless I am also using Office 365, do you guys have a similar mechanism for it?

Rafael Masson: It would be great to have an option to create personal inboxes in Missive and use Missive rules to assign emails to these personal inboxes, instead of relying on the Gmail filters.
That way this feature would work for all mail services.
